Dear Chairman Hoffmann and Council Members:
It is my pleasure to inform you that I have appointed Gunther F. Mench of Council
District 9, to the County of Hawaii Highway Safety Council. Mr. Mench is a 14-year
resident of Hawaii. He is the present owner of the Harbor Gallery in Kawaihae, and the
former Director of Wyland Gallery in Kona. Mr. Mench is a member of the South Kohala
Traffic Safety Committee, the Kawaihae Local Resource Council, the Superferry
Advisory Board, and he is a moderator with Hokuloa UCC.
Mr. Mench states that he is not affiliated with any political party. He will serve a term
co-terminus with my own.
