2 am writing to thank all the members of Hawaii County City Council for voting to enter
into negotiations to purchase and preserve the beautiful land of Punalu'u. I really
believe that even without a resort or condos, many people from around the world would
still visit Punalu'u and see and appreciate the real Hawaii, for Punalu'u is a great
representation what the Hawaiian people and land are really about. I have had the great
fortune of visiting Punalu'u with my friends from the University of Minnesota-Duluth, and
I have been
touched by the beauty and treasures of the land and those I met.
Preserving Punalu'u means that many more students will be able to learn about the meaning
of "ALOHA". Mahalo, peace, and love.
