Angel; Ford, Brenda; Naeole, Emily; Higa, Stacy; Yoshimoto, J; Ikeda, Donald; cohmayor@co.hawaii.hi.us Subject: SNAFU: We didn't receive your Punalu'u survey Importance: High Dear Councilman Yagong, We were pleased to read in Saturday's Tribune-Herald that your office surveyed Volcano residents about the proposed County purchase of Punalu'u coastal lands. However, we were , surprised and frustrated because we did not receive the survey while residents in the Golf Course Subdivision, Glenwood and even closer to Hilo did because their post office boxes are located at Kilauea Military Camp. We receive mail at the Volcano post office. Phone calls to our neighbors revealed that other households in Mauna Loa Estates also did not receive the survey. We, and several neighbors that we spoke to about this issue, strop su port the Coun 's purchase of the land. Including Volcano residents in your survey seems prudent since Punalu'u is part of our local area and has the closest beach to us. The two people in this household are more than happy to pay higher taxes for the purchase of public lands for preservation. We have long used the black sand beach, camped along the shoreline and attended pa`ina at Punalu'u, so we are especially pleased that the County is considering this purchase. Please don't forget our views and those of our neighbors when you make your decision. Thank you. Aloha, Tom Peek and Catherine Robbins Mauna Loa Estates P.O.
