Subject: Mahalo...
This is clearly a wonderful thing that has happened with lots of hard work on
everyone's part. I have a home in Volcano and lived there for 10 years but
owned it much longer. I also have a home on ~O~ahu and lived there for 20
years. I am now on the mainland in Oklahoma but my heart and soul are in
Hawaii - I last worked in Na~alehu with a special project there (I am a
Clinical Nurse Specialist). I am so proud of everyone for fighting for this
special place. I have written and done what I could from here.
My sister in Honolulu is working toward similar goals in the Kaka'ako district.
We must all do what we can to save some of our island land from large
developers, from the greed and desire to continue building and using up our
island resources. So much of this development, too, is not for the people in
general but for those with greater wealth and often totally ignores the
cultural heritage of the Islands.
I thank you and everyone for all you have done thus far. Please keep us
informed.
