Subject: Punaluu Decision
Hawaii County Council Members,
I am writing to express my gratitude to the county council for their vote to purchase the Punaluu land
and surrounding area. I understand that there is still voting that must take place, but the first step in the
right direction has been taken. Each of you has done something that will positively affect many future
generations. The honor you have bestowed upon the people of your county and to the many visitors
who appreciate the mostly untouched beauty of Ka'u cannot completely be put into words.
May the preservation of the Punaluu area be a testament to all of the power of the people.
