Your Committee on Public Works and Intergovernmental Relations, to which was referred
Communication No. 425, reports as follows:
Communication No. 425 from Mayor Harry Kim, dated May 07, 2007 nominates Mr. Myles Y.
Miyasato of Council District 1 to serve on the County of Hawaii Transportation Commission.
Mr. Miyasato is a 46-year resident of Hawaii. He is employed by the Hawaii Operating
Engineers Stabilization Fund, was a foreman with Oahu Construction and Isemoto Contracting,
is a member of the Koaniani Community Club, and was the former chair of the Hawaii County
Cost of Government Commission. Mr. Miyasato states that he is not affiliated with any political
party and, if confirmed, he will serve a vacant term to expire on December 31, 2010.
The Council Members commended Mr. Miyasato for his willingness to serve, and spoke in favor
of his nomination.
Your Committee on Public Works and Intergovernmental Relations recommends confirmation of
the appointment of Mr. Miyasato to the County of Hawaii Transportation Commission.
