Dear Council Members:
As a long-time advocate for perserving the air, land, and water vital to survival of the human race, I want to thank
you for the July 9th decision of the County Council Finance Committee to approve Resolution 169-07. I hope
these initial steps to protect Punalu'u will lead to greater understanding of the importance of preserving open
space in Hawaii and across the globe. I appreciate how difficult it is to withstand pressures related to short-term
economic gains that bring far greater benefit to the few than to the community.
