Angel; Hoffmann, Pete Subject: Political Middle Ground As a relative newcomer to the Big Island , I am writing to every Councilmember asking for you to find a "middleground" on all of the current, and future ,issues facing the county. Can Punalulu be saved and the developer build his proposed hotel ? Is it possible that a Super Walmart be built without negatively impacting the environment or traffic patterns ? The answer on these two current issues, for example, is yes. It seems to me that a (rather vocal) relative few, in terms of overall population, representtheh view as the only view and the large number of average citizens like myself are seemingly not heard. Their approach is a "My way or the highway" mentality. I also feel this is the reason why so many citizens choose not to participate in voting ,meetings etc. Also, it is very unfortunate the "vocal minority" also choose to ignore the large middle ground that exists on all issues. Many issues are not black and white. Please keep us "middle ground" residents in mind on all issues. Mahalo, Greg Henderson Leilani Estates Pahoa Get a sneak peak of the all-new AOL.com. comm.
