RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE ACCEPTANCE OF A MONETARY DONATION OF $1,000 TO THE
HAWAII COUNTY POLICE DEPARTMENT
WHEREAS, the Hawaii Police Athletic Federation has donated $1,000 to the Hawaii County Police
Department; and
WHEREAS, these funds will be used for the Department's Hawaii Island Police Activities League (HI-
PAL) program; and
WHEREAS, Article XIII, Section 13-12, of the Hawaii County Charter provides that the Council, on
behalf of the County, may accept gifts or donations of personal property; and
WHEREAS, the Hawaii County Police Department recommends the acceptance of this donation.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII that in
accordance with Article XIII, Section 13-12, of the Hawaii County Charter, the Council of the County of Hawaii
accepts the $1,000.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a letter of appreciation be sent to Mr. Dennis P. Peterson,
President, Hawaii Police Athletic Federation, P.O. Box 22623, Honolulu, Hawaii 96823, acknowledging this
generous donation.
