Your Committee on Finance, to which was referred Resolution No. 246-07, reports as follows:
Resolution No. 246-07, transmitted by Director of Finance William Takaba, via Communication
No. 499, dated June 25, 2007, authorizes the abandonment and sale of government paper roads to Kenneth
and Jennifer Grace.
The County of Hawaii is the owner of that certain pazcel of land, being a portion of the Niupea
Homestead Road, Niupea Homesteads, Niupea, Hamakua, Hawaii, further described as lands abutting
Tax Map Keys (3) 4-1-004:041 ("PR41") with an area of 19,919 squaze feet, and (3) 4-1-004:042
("PR42") with an azea of 28,955 square feet. An independent appraiser has determined that the fair
market values are $25,000 for the roadway PR-41, and $34,000 for the roadway PR-42.
In accordance with Section 2-110(3), Hawaii County Code, the parcel is economically or physically
unsuitable or undesirable for development or utilization as a separate unit by reason of its location, size,
shape, or other characteristics.
Pursuant to Section 2-111 and 2-118, Hawaii County Code, the County Council may authorize the
Director of Finance to dispose of remnant lots.
Your Committee on Finance is in accord with the purpose and intent of Resolution No. 246-07, and
recommends its adoption.
