I was asked questions at the previous Planning Committee Meeting regarding the drainage conditions of the
parcel in question. In response to the questions, I had referred to the Ka Palani Kula Subdivision Study. I wanted
to make this study and additional information available to the council prior to the 1st reading meeting on July 25th,
2007.
Please find attached a copy of a Flood Study prepared by Kenneth Long, P.E. (9247-C) for KA PALANI KULA
SUBDIVISION, TMK: (3) 2-3-37:06, which is dated 11121/2000. I believe this is the work done for the subdivision
of the properties in this area most recently. Note that on page 2 under the Hydraulics section of the study,
that on 10/20/2000 the drainage culvert at Komohana Street was observed at 500 year flood conditions
to be less than half full.
Also, please note that we intend to comply with the much larger "Zone A" D-2 drainage easement on
FEMA FIRM maps and not the smaller D-4 easement that is mentioned in the study for the Ka Palani
Kula Subdivision.
