Your Committee on Finance, to which was referred Resolution No. 237-07, reports as follows:
Resolution No. 237-07, transmitted by Director of Finance William Takaba, via Communication No.
474, dated June 5, 2007, authorizes the acceptance of a donation from the Ocean View Community
Association.
The Ocean View Community Association has graciously donated a new Zoll "E-Series ACLS"
Defibrillator, along with a "E-Series Sure Power" rechargeable Lithium Ion Battery Pack, a Pediatric
Blood Pressure Cuff, a Large Adult Blood Pressure Cuff, and In-service Training Compact Disc to the
Hawaii County Fire. The medical equipment is to be assigned to the Hawaiian Ocean View Estates
fire station. The value of this donation is estimated at $19,640.30.
Pursuant to Article XIII, Section 13-12, Hawaii County Charter, the Council, on behalf of the County,
may accept gifts or donations of personal property.
A letter of appreciation will be sent to Mr. Bruce Coates, President, Ocean View Community
Association, Inc., P.O. Box 6016, Ocean View, Hawaii 96737, acknowledging this generous donation.
Your Committee on Finance is in accord with the purpose and intent of Resolution No. 237-07 and
recommends its adoption.
