Re: Operating Budget
The State of Hawaii Department of the Attorney General's Crime Prevention and Justice
Assistance Division has authorized a $32,486 Law Enforcement Investigations Standby
Pay Grant to the Hawaii County Police Department. The grant's goal is to improve the
department's ability to respond to violent crimes against women. The grant funds will be
used to compensate the Juvenile Aid Section Detectives who are on standby status,
ensuring prompt responses to the victim(s) and the crime scene.
Enclosed is a resolution to authorize the Mayor to enter into an agreement with the State
of Hawaii Department of the Attorney General for this grant.
Also enclosed is a bill for an ordinance amending the Operating Budget by appropriating
this $32,486 Law Enforcement Investigations Standby Pay Grant.
