RE: UPW v. County of Hawai'I, et. al.
Civil No. 98-244 (Alleged illegal privatization of janitorial and
ground maintenance contracts)
Pursuant to Section 92-5, Hawaii Revised Statutes, as amended, the
Office of the Corporation Counsel respectfully requests the Council convene an
executive meeting closed to the public for the purpose of discussing the above
lawsuit. We ask this session be scheduled at the Council's next available
meeting, subject to applicable Sunshine Law notice requirements.
We anticipate bringing forward information to the Council concerning
questions and issues pertaining to the County and the Council's powers, duties,
privileges, immunities, and liabilities. These matters will be discussed within the
confines of the attorney-client privilege.
