A RESOLUTION TRANSFERRING/APPROPRIATING AN APPROPRIATION OUT
AND FROM THE DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT(S) AND CREDITING SAME TO A
DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT(S)
WHEREAS, the Real Women Creative Writing Competition celebrates National
Women's History Month held in the month of March; and
WHEREAS, communities nationwide recognize and celebrate the lives of women of all
races, ages, cultures, ethnic traditions and ways of life; and
WHEREAS, students from both East and West Hawaii honor the women in their family
or in their community that have made a difference in their lives by writing an essay about them;
and
WHEREAS, at a luncheon hosted by the Committee on the Status of Women, the
students, their "real women" nominees, their pazents, teachers, and principals aze honored; and
WHEREAS, public, private, charter, and Hawaiian immersion schools aze all invited to
participate in the contest; and
WHEREAS, Contingency Relief funds from Council District 5 will be
appropriated to the Office of Management to provide financial assistance to the
Committee on the Status of Women, to be used towazds the Real Women Creative Writing
Contest; now, therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII that the
following amount is hereby transferred/appropriated as set forth below:

010.101.5101.91 Clerk-Council SVC -Contingency Relief $2,500
CREDITED TO:
010.111.5115.20 Office of Management $2,500

BE IT FINALLY RESOLVED that the County Clerk shall forward a copy of this
resolution to the Honorable Mayor Harry Kim, the Committee on the Status of Women and
Director of Finance and that the Director of Finance is hereby authorized to make the necessary
transfers in accordance with the terms of this resolution.
