Support of Comm. 568 ~ Res. 285-07 ~ Puna Upzone Pause
Greetings,
Thank you for this opportunity to express my support for the proposed Res. 285-07,
communicated in Comm. 568 from Councilmember Emily Naeole.
It is a good idea allow infrastructure to catch up with other developments going on in
Puna today.
Placing a pause on upzoning will afford planners the opportunity to develop more efficient
infrastructure plans.
Better planning helps to ensure that public services can be placed where Chey are most-
needed, and also helps protect opportunities to preserve open spaces and scenic views.
Please resolve to place a pause on upzoning in Puna, except for infrastructure and social
service type needs, until the Puna CDP becomes ordinance, or by the date stated in the
resolution text.
