Request by the American Legion to Name the West Hawaii Veterans Cemetery
In response to Communication No. 690 from Keith T. Burley, several Council Members have
requested our office to draft a bill for an ordinance to name the West Hawaii Veterans Cemetery-
Pu ~u Ho'omaha O Na Po'e Koa O Hawai ~i Komohana.
In our research, we learned that there may be a difference of opinion on the use of the macron in
the name. We are in the process of seeking a resolution on this matter before finalizing the bill.
