Re: Capital Budget
Enclosed is a bill for an ordinance amending the Capital Budget by appropriating an
additional $2,000,000 to the Honoka'a Large Capacity Cesspool Replacement project. This
project will connect lots in the Honoka'a town area, currently serviced by large capacity
cesspools, to a collector system serviced by a wastewater disposal system. The additional
funding will come from the State Water Pollution Control Revolving Fund (SRF) Loan
program and is needed for the anticipated remedial construction work associated with
portions of the existing Lehua Trunk sewer. This bill increases the FY2007-08
appropriation from $5,000,000 to $7,000,000 for the SRF portion of this project.

A. REQUEST:
Request to amend Ordinance 07-83 Capital Improvement Budget, to increase the appropriation for the
following project:
Honokaa LCC Replacement (110.699.5693.19) -State Revolving Fund from $5,000,000 to $7,000,000.
B. BACKGROUND AND JUSTIFICATION (USE ADDITIONAL SHEETS AS NEEDEDI:
A Project Data/Financial Impact Statement is attached.
Additional funding for construction is required in anticipation of remedial construction work associated with
portions of the existing Lehua Trunk sewer.
The additional $2,000,000 in State Revolving Loan Funds is estimated as follows:
1) Sewer construction - $2,000,000.
