Grant Period (Commencement 8~ Completion): July 1, 2006 to June 30, 2007
Goals: To continue to obtain a high amount of paternity judgments; to improve child support
obligations; and to educate the community, including schools, legal and social
organizations, concerning paternity and child support.
Objectives: To establish paternity; to collect child support debts owed to the State of Hawaii and
custodial parents; to continue to improve staff productivity on the KEIKI system; to
provide updates and training to staff members on changes in federal requirements,
paternity establishment, child support establishment, enforcement, distribution and
interstate case processing; and to educate public and private agencies/persons
regarding changes to the patternity and child support laws.
Results: The division collected over $533,720 in child support debts during fiscal year 2006-07.
The division also initiated 246 paternity cases, established 191 paternity judgments, and
recorded 294 Voluntary Establishment of Paternity (YEP) cases do~ur//ing this period.
