Your Committee on Finance, to which was referred Resolution No. 264-07, reports as follows:
Resolution No. 264-07, transmitted jointly with Bill No. 129 by Director of Finance
William Takaba, via Communication No. 532, dated July 12, 2007, accepting a monetazy
donation of $5,700 from the employees of Metzler Contracting Co., LLC. These funds, to be
distributed equally to the districts of North Kohala, South Kohala, and North Kona, will be used
for community-oriented events administered or sponsored by the Hawaii County Police
Department.
Pursuant to Article XIII, Section 13-12, of the Hawaii County Charter, it provides that the
Council, on behalf of the County, may accept gifts or donations of personal property.
A letter of appreciation will be sent to the employees of Metzler Contracting Co. LLC,
c/o Mr. John Metzler, Managing Member/RME, P. O. Box 617, Kapa`au, Hawaii 96755.
There was no discussion on this measure.
Your Committee on Finance is in accord with the purpose and intent of Resolution No. 264-07
and recommends its adoption.
