Your Committee on Finance, to which was referred Resolution No. 265-07, reports as follows:
Resolution No. 265-07, transmitted jointly with Bill No. 130 by Director of Finance
William Takaba, via Communication No. 533, dated July 12, 2007, authorizes the acceptance of
a monetary donation of $1,000 from the Hawaii Police Athletic Federation. These funds will be
used for the Hawaii County Police Department's Hawaii Isle Police Activities League
(HI-PAL) program.
Pursuant to Article XIII, Section 13-12, of the Hawaii County Charter, it provides that the
Council, on behalf of the County, may accept gifts or donations of personal property.
A letter of appreciation will be sent to Mr. Dennis P. Peterson, President, Hawaii Police Athletic
Federation, P. O. Box 22623, Honolulu, Hawaii 96823 acknowledging this generous donation.
There was no discussion on this measure.
Your Committee on Finance is in accord with the purpose and intent of Resolution No. 265-07,
and recommends its adoption.
