Your Committee on Public Works and Intergovernmental Relations, to which was referred
Communication No. 536, reports as follows:
Bill No. 131 transmitted by Council Chairperson Pete Hoffmann, via Communication
No. 536, dated July 13, 2007, amends Chapter 2, Article 15, Subsection 2-91.1(c)(5) and
(8), Hawaii County Code 1983 (2005 Edition), as amended, relating to the disclosure of
financial interests.
At the July 24, 2007 Committee on Public Works and Intergovernmental Relations
meeting, no one appeared to present public testimony.
Council Chair Hoffmann stated the December 27, 20061etter from the Board of Ethics is
self-explanatory. He seeks the Council support in the Board of Ethics recommendations.
Your Committee on Public Works and Intergovernmental Relations is in accord with the purpose
and intent of Bill No. 131, and recommends it pass first reading.
