SUBJECT: MARIJUANA ERADICATION MISSION FOR THE MONTH OF
AUGUST, 2007
The Hawaii Police Department conducted marijuana eradication missions
on August 2, 2007 and August 22-24, 2007, in East Hawaii and on August 20-21,
2007 in West Hawaii.
As required by Resolution No. 46-01, reports indicating the number of plants
eradicated and the number of complaints received from the public, the type of
complaint and the complaint disposition are attached.

Complaint:
Like a "frickin' war zone". (4) helicopters "buzzed" right over her animals, real low. "Freaked out" the
horses, bull, all the animals. Police can walk her property. She is breeding Norvvegian dwarf goats.
She is concerned for her animals.

Speaking for (4) helicopters/crews -they were flying from Ka'u to Kona District to refuel. Flying above
the 1000' elevation over HBR11 area.

Flew over the area continuing back to Kona District.
Comments:
Ms. BRYANT invited police to walk her property. I assigned Acting Detective Akira EDMOUNDSON to
make an appointment to meet with Ms. BRYANT and discuss her concerns. She understands police
have a job to do regarding eradicating marijuana. She appreciated the call and the future contact at
her residence.

Complaint:
He was awake all night with a "crazy lady" He was asleep in the afternoon and heard a "chopper on
top of his house." He heard it, did not see it. Went outside to look and saw an unidentified helicopter
flying away and also saw a "different military color olive drab chopper." The next day "was different
colors on the choppers." He is not sure if the helicopters were police.

Comments:
I spoke to Ofcr. Charles ADAMS of Kona Vice Section. The military helicopter assisting with the
CCFO flew with the HPD helicopter that Ofcr. ADAMS occupied. They flew well above the 1000'
elevation (while in the area of Mr. BOHANNON's residence) flying to and from the Ka'u District from
Kona District.

Complaint:
(3) helicopters-yellow, silver, color he forgot (he took pictures on his cellphone) flew above his farm
"below 200', below 500'." Made ripples in his pond, scared his cats. He has a medical marijuana
"license" and they are still "hassling me." He has (7) marijuana plants in pots on his deck-"makai west"
side of his residence. Occurred sometime between 1000-1100hrs. for 10-15 minutes. He called FAA
and KN airport and reported it. We are welcome to "look around" his place.

Mr. KELLEY invited police to "look around" his place. I assigned Acting Detective Akira
EDMOUNDSON to make an appointment to meet with Mr. KELLEY and discuss his concerns. He
said he is a very sick man and is dying. He needs the marijuana, not these kind of headaches. He
appreciated the call and the future contact at his residence.
