The original deadline to adopt rules and revisions was September 30, 2007, but now is November 30, 2007 with their approval. Various public meetings during the past several weeks have generated many concerns of insufficient time to review and provide both verbal and written comments to address different versions of the above bills, especially by the professional design communities as well as the affordable housing entities. Accordingly, we respectfully request the County Council to defer action on both bills to enable Public Works and other appropriate County Departments to receive additional input and comments that may result in reaching common grounds of understanding by further discussions. Our request for deferral, if approved, would allow Public Works to conduct meetings with interested parties during September and October and, hopefully, achieve a reasonable understanding enabling all parties to move ahead. We would greatly appreciate the opportunity to discuss with appropriate parties, once more, the significant issues contained in both of the above bills. Thank you. BRUCE C. McCLURE, P.E.
