Re: Acceptance of Donations "
In accordance with (1) Article XIII, Section 13-12, of the Hawaii County Charter, which
authorizes the Council, on behalf of the County, to accept gifts or donations of personal
property, and with (2) Chapter 2, Article 30, Section 2-162 (c), of the Hawaii County Code,
which states that any donation or gift which does not fall within the capitalization procedures of
the department of finance shall be submitted to the council by letter for its approval, we request
the Council's approval of the following donations:
A monetary donation of $25 to the Department of Parks & Recreation, to be used towards
the maintenance of the Pana`ewa Rainforest Zoo & Gardens, by The Fraternal Order of
Eagles -Hilo Hawaii Aerie #3642, 16-111 Opukahaia Street, Kea`au, Hawaii 96749.
Land clearing "In-kind" services, valued at $600, to the Hawaii Fire Department, leveling
an area for the fire truck shelter in Miloli`i Village, by Mr. Julio Resureccion dba J.R.
Bulldozing & Land Clearing, P.O. Box 1077, Na`alehu, Hawaii 96772.
We ask that a letter of appreciation and acknowledgment of their donation be sent to the
donors.
If there are any questions, please do not hesitate to call the recipient Departments.

J.R. Bulldozing & Land Clearing.

B. BACKGROUND AND JUSTIFICATION (USE ADDITIONAL SHEETS AS NEEDED):
J.R. Bulldozing & Landclearing was contracted to excavate a building pad for an additional water tank for the
Milolli Village water system. While awaiting a delivery of gravel and sand, J.R. leveled an area 45' X 50' on
the east side of the existing water tank for a future garage to store the fire truck. This work is valued at $600
(3 hours X $200 per hour).
