Aloha Councilmembers,
It is with regret that I could not attend today's meeting in Kona.
However,
I am writing to express my support of the passge of Resolution 169-07.
As a long time resident of Ka'u, I am deeply concerned that SeaMOUntain
V's
development proposal will severely and negatively impact the fragile
habitat
of the endangered Hawksbill turtle. As this species is on the verge of
extinction, I feel as stewards of this planet, we have the
responsibility to
protect one of its last nesting places-PUnalu'u. Species extinction is
a
crime against humanity and a moral issue.
I trust that in your infinite wisdom, you will find it within yourself
to
vote to pass this resolution.
