My husband and I have heard many nasty rumors about Ka' u. preservation and Pele Hanoa. One of our acquaintances, a contractor in Ka'u, came over to tell us how self-serving anti terrible Pele Hanoa and ICa'u Preservation are. Next day, I read a comment made for an article about Pele Hanoa ---please see the attached (the comment is circled). The words this commenter use1:_ are very similar words our contractor acquaintance used. Vde started attending Ka' u preservation meetings and volunt ~ er~;si at the Malama Punalu'u festival. The feelings of the people crf Ka'u Preservation and their supporters are genuine. There is i~o space for personal gain or greed. We suggested the Ka'u Preservation to defend these nasty rumors, but they said "no." "We are transparent and open, so people can see us." We do respect Ka'u Preservation's integrity. Please vote "Yes" for the resolution and end this nasty and di~i~isiv~;; situation. t Thank you, - ~ ~ Naomi Routon P.®. Box 215 Naalehu, HI 96772 r::. comet: Wo. 3 4q . 9 t y Ref. T~ tr~N«I Ref.
