RE: SUPPORT FOR HAWAII ISLAND HUMANE SOCIETY
Dear Councilmen Tyler and Ray,
I fully support and encourage your support of the Hawaii Island
Humane Society.
I have recently become a Board Member of the HIHS. Several months
before becoming a Board Member, my wife and I adopted a new
member into our family, a dog, Molty, from the HIHS.
As a new Board Member, I have discovered the incredible amount of
time and energy necessary to operate all three Big Island shelters.
What appears so critical and necessary to operate these shelters
efficiently is to have all efforts coordinated by one provider.
Dividing the services and responsibilities between the East and West
side will reduce the accountability and consistency that so important to
achieve and maintain.
I strongly feel and believe our Big Island community of humans and
animals has been and will continue to be served best by the Hawaii
Island Humane Society.
