RESOLUTION NO. 375 07
A RESOLUTION TRANSFERRING/APPROPRIATING AN APPROPRIATION OUT
AND FROM THE DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT(S) AND CREDITING SAME TO
A DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT(S)
WHEREAS, the Family Support Services Of West Hawaii, West Hawaii
Fatherhood Initiative have requested funds to conduct the He Makuakane Maika`i `O Hawaii
-Father Mentors program; and
WHEREAS, this project sends a powerful message to men that fatherhood is man's
greatest calling and the community supports men in becoming more deeply involved with
their children; and
WHEREAS, the program provides direct support to fathers through home visiting,
weekly classes, social gatherings, mentoring, family strengthening events and an annual
conference; and
WHEREAS, the He Makuakane Maika`i `O Hawaii -Father Mentors program drug
and alcohol free event that is an on-going support program, which attendance includes
approximately 200 adults and 500 children; and
WHEREAS, Contingency Relief funds from Council District 4 will be appropriated to
the Office of the Prosecuting Attorney to be used toward the He Makuakane Maika`i `O
Hawaii -Father Mentors program; now, therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII that
the following amount is hereby transferred/appropriated as set forth below:

010.271.5271.14 Office of the Prosecuting Attorney $5,000

BE IT FINALLY RESOLVED that the County Clerk shall forward a copy of this
resolution to the Prosecuting Attorney and Director of Finance and that the Director of
Finance is hereby authorized to make the necessary transfers in accordance with the terms of
this resolution.
