Re: Reconsideration of Amendment to Bill No. 167
Pursuant to Council Rule 16, I am requesting that reconsideration of the vote on the amendment
introduced by Council Member K. Angel Pilago to Bill No. 167, which would ban superstores on
Hawaiian Homes Lands, be agendized for the October 17 Council meeting in Kona. I am also
requesting that an Executive Session be agendized so that the Council can consult with
Corporation Counsel on issues of liability and Council jurisdiction raised by the above
amendment.
Information derived from the Executive Session, as well as anticipated correspondence from
Department of Hawaiian Homes Lands, will determine whether or not I will make a motion to
reconsider.
