Dear County Council:
There comes a time when you must recognise that these stores do have their merit and the smaller stores are NOT going out of
business because of them. I don;t believe we will have a rampant rush to build more big box stores and that to refuse them is not in
the best interests of this island. Progress, my friends, is inevitable. Look at what we, on the west side have been putting up with vis
a vis development, in the name of progress. The population of the island is self limiting. Business sees that also. And so if you say
nothing over 90,000 sf the developer will build at 89,000 sf. There will always be a way of getting around it. Business will limit itself
because they do not want to develop and have it fail now do they?
