SUBJECT: Kea'au Middle College High School
Aloha mail I am writing to respectfully ask that representatives of Kea'au Middle
College High School share details about their alternative high school program to council
members at the Nov. 6 Human Services and Economic Development Committee meeting.
Located in the Kea'au Youth Business Center in Kea'au Town Center, the Middle
College is a partnership program of the Hawaii State Depaztment of Education and
Hawaii Community College. Students who aze capable of succeeding at college level
and who are not engaged in or challenged by the traditional high school environment
have the opportunity through this unique program to explore new options in the 11th and
12th grades. They complete requirements for high school graduation while earning
college credits.
Please allow ahalf--hour for this presentation about the Kea'au Middle College
High School. Enclosed is a CD and a brochure detailing the program for each of the
council members.
