Please find enclosed a Resolution for Hawaii Recycles Day to be established on November 15tH
to coincide with America Recycles Day on the same date.
The Environmental Management Commission, on September 26, 2007, unanimously voted to
support this resolution. We ask for your support and approval for this resolution.

RE: Resolution -~~ra_m :Resolution Establishing November 15, 2007 as Hawaii Recycles
Day to coincide with America Recycles Day
Pursuant to Section 2(g) of Rule 4 of the Rules of Procedure of the Council of the County of
Hawaii, this written request is submitted with my approval that the above-referenced matter be
waived from the Environmental Management Committee to the full Council for immediate
action. In reviewing this matter, timely approval is crucial. It is therefore advantageous that
approval is granted and the matter placed onto the next Council agenda for review. However, in
the event this request is denied, for whatever reason, I understand the matter shall be referred to
the Environmental ManagementCommittee for placement on its future agenda.
