County Council,
I commend your efforts to make the elections office accessible to more residents
of the county. The Alii Plaza is a location I have tried to visit several times in the
past to go to the architectural firm resident therein. On both occassions I gave up
and returned home because there was no parking to be found there, and none in the
neighborhood. There is a commercial lot a block away on Alii Dr., but it is a long,
uphill walk and expensive. I would strongly recommend, if the goal is to have an office
to which citizens might come, to seek a location having adequate free parking within a
reasonable distance. The Alii Plaza has a small lot, but those spaces seem to be
occupied by full time employees.
Thank you for considering positive action to provide voter registration facilities for
some of the many presently un-served parts of the county. Because 1 believe that the
Alii Plaza location will not serve our residents, I would suggest a negative vote on this
location, a positive vote on finding an alternative one. I would rather pay more of my
tax dollars for a useful location.
Respectfully,
Marshall Blann
