SUBJECT: TRAFFIC CODE AMENDMENT/WAIANUENUE AVENUE
PROPOSED NO-PARKING ZONES
We request a no parking zone be authorized on Waianuenue Avenue between the mauka access to
Rainbow Drive and Waiau Street. The new parking lot recently constructed just mauka of the Hilo
Hospital is open and available to the public and employees for parking.
This section of Waianuenue Avenue contains many medical facilities, which are ofren used by
emergency response vehicles, as well as the general public. Vehicles parked along the shoulders of the
narrow roadway may hamper the smooth flow of traffic.
We ask for your review and consideration for adoption of the subject amendment. Should you have any
