SUBJECT: Resolution Appointing the Members of the Committee on Food and
Energy Sustainability and Designating the Chairperson and Vice
Chairperson Thereof
Resolution 342-07, Draft 2, proposes to create a new committee called the Committee on
Food and Energy Sustainability. Attached is a proposed resolution appointing the
members of the new committee and designating the Chairperson and Vice Chairperson
thereof.
As Resolution 342-07, Draft 2 will be on its final reading, I would like to request that this
matter be waived to the November 7, 2007, Council meeting so that we may discuss this
proposed resolution in conjunction with Resolution 342-07, Draft 2.

RE: Resolution No. 387-07 : Appoints the Members of the Committee on Food and
Energy Sustainability and Designating the Chairperson and Vice Chairperson Thereof
Pursuant to Section 2(g) of Rule 4 of the Rules of Procedure of the Council of the County of
Hawaii, this written request is submitted with my approval that the above-referenced matter be
waived from the Public Works and Intergovernmental Relations Committee to the full Council
for immediate action. In reviewing this matter, timely approval is crucial. It is therefore
advantageous that approval is granted and the matter placed onto the next Council agenda for
review. However, in the event this request is denied, for whatever reason, I understand the
matter shall be referred to the Public Works and Intergovernmental Relations Committee for
placement on its future agenda.
