RESOLUTION NO. 408 0!7
A RESOLUTION TRANSFERRING/APPROPRIATING AN APPROPRIATION OUT
AND FROM THE DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT(S) AND CREDITING SAME TO A
DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT(S).
WHEREAS, the County of Hawaii through Resolution No. 512-06, accepted the
donation of land located at the Old Hakalau Mill Site,.Lot 3D, containing an area of 3.182 acres,
more or less, of the Hakalau Estates Subdivision, situate at Hakalau Nui, in the District of South
Hilo, County and State of Hawaii, identified as Tax Map Key: (3) 2-9-002:080 from Continental
Pacific, LLC; and
WHEREAS, the County of Hawaii owns and operates Laupahoehoe Point Beach Park
and allows overnight camping at the site by permit; and
WHEREAS, usage of these two county properties signifigantly increases during long
holiday weekends requiring additional facilities to meet the usage demands; and
WHEREAS, the dates and number of ADA portatble restrooms will be scheduled as
follows:
Weekend of: Laupahoehoe Additional Restrooms Hakalau Additional Restrooms

February 15, 2008 2 1
March 21, 2008 2 1
May 23, 2008 4 2
July 4, 2008 4 2

and
WHEREAS, Contingency Relief funds from Council District 1 for $4,500 will be
appropriated to the Department of Parks and Recreation to be used for the placement of the
additional ADA portable restrooms at the Old Hakalau Mill Site, Lot 3D and the Laupahoehoe
Point Beach Park; now, therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII that the
following amount is hereby transferred/appropriated as set forth below:

BE IT FINALLY RESOLVED that the County Clerk shall forward a copy of this
resolution to the Director of Parks and Recreation and Director of Finance and that the Director
of Finance is hereby authorized to make the necessazy transfers in accordance with the terms of
this resolution.
