Wahiola is a residential substance abuse treatment program for high risk male and female teens from the Island of Hawaii and other parts of the state. The County of Hawaii in 2004 contracted with Marimed Foundation to provide residential substance abuse treatment for our youth in lieu of sending them off to Oahu for treatment. The first residential group home with eight beds for boys opened in November 2004 in the Laupahoehoe area.
