Pursuant to Hawaii Revised Statutes §92-7, due to the Hurricane Watch issued for
Hawaii Island, notice is hereby given that the Council's Committee meetings previously
scheduled for August 14, 2007 at the Sheraton Keauhou Bay Resort & Spa have been
cancelled. The meetings have been rescheduled to Tuesday, Audgust 21, 2007 in the Hilo
Council Room, 333 Kilauea Avenue, Ben Franklin Building, 2" Floor, Hilo, Hawaii, as
follows:

Comm. 547.2: PRESENTATION ENTITLED "ENERGY SELF-SUFFICIENCY"
From Council Chair Pete Hoffmann, dated August 1, 2007, requesting time at the
Human Services & Economic Development Committee meeting for the above
presentation. The presentation will review the current state of the County's energy
policies and will discuss the need for an updated Model Energy Code for Hawaii
County.

disrupted, the scheduled meeting will continue.
Submitting Testimony: Those wishing to testify in person must register with the County Clerk's staff.
Those testifying in person and submitting written testimony at the meeting should bring fifteen (15)
copies of the testimony for distribution. Testimony may also be submitted (1) by mail to the County
Clerk's Office in Hilo at 25 Aupuni St., Hilo, Hawaii, 96720; (2) by facsimile to (808) 961-8912; or

For testimony received via a-mail or fax, copies will be distributed at the meeting when transmitted in a
timely manner. All oral and written testimony will be made a part of the public record.
Notice to Lobbvists: If you aze a lobbyist, you must register with the Hawaii County Clerk within five
days of becoming a lobbyist {Article 15, §2-91.3(6), Hawaii County Code}. A lobbyist means "any
individual engaged for pay or other consideration who spends more than five hours in any month or
$275 in any six-month period for the purpose of attempting to influence legislative or administrative
action by communicating or urging others to communicate with public officials." {Article 15,
§2-91.3(a)(6), Hawaii County Code}. Registration forms and expenditure report documents aze
