RESOLUTION NO. 42~
A RESOLUTION TRANSFERRING/APPROPRIATING AN APPROPRIATION OUT
AND FROM THE DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNTS} AND CREDITING SAME TO A
DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT(S)
WHEREAS, there is a growing number of people in West Hawaii that aze hungry and
homeless; and
WHEREAS, the mission of the Hawaii Island Food Bank is to feed the homeless and
hungry and to prevent the waste of edible food by warehousing and coordinating member
agencies to efficiently distribute and serve food, with dignity, to those in need on Hawaii Island;
and
WHEREAS the Hawaii Island Food Bank/Hawai`i Island Food Basket is a program of
the Office for Social Ministry of the Roman Catholic Church, a 501(c)3 non profit organization;
and
WHEREAS, the Hawaii Island Food Bank member agencies include, but are not limited
to; Caze-A-Van, Mokuaikaua Church, St. Michael's Church, Meet & Eat (Kealakehe), Meet &
Eat (Ocean View), Solid Rock Ministry and Calvary Chapel of Kona; and
WHEREAS, Contingency Relief funds from Council District 8 will be appropriated to
the Office of Housing and Community Development for the purpose of supplementing the
supply of food to the Hawaii Island Food Bank; now, therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII that the
following amount is hereby transferred/appropriated as set forth below:

010.101.5101.91 Clerk-Council SVC -Contingency Relief $17,000
CREDITED TO:
010.801.5801.32 Office of Housing and Community Development $17,000
Trans To Housing Fund
(OSM-Hawaii Island Food Basket-152.461.5466.39)
BE IT FINALLY RESOLVED that the County Clerk shall forward a copy of this
resolution to the Housing Administrator and the Director of Finance and that the Director of
Finance is hereby authorized to make the necessary transfers in accordance with the terms of this
resolution.
