RESOLUTION NO. 422 07
A RESOLUTION TRANSFERRING/APPROPRIATING AN APPROPRIATION OUT AND
FROM THE DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT(S) AND CREDITING SAME TO A
DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT(S).
WHEREAS, the residents of Waipi`o Valley and Kukuihaele has formed a steering
committee that has been working together in regards to implementing the Waipi`o Park Ranger
Program; and
WHEREAS, in the course of implementation, the steering committee came to a consensus
that there is a great need to have an Informational and Educational Program to provide the
necessary information to educate residents as well as tourists who visit Waipi`o Valley; to expand
the hours of the Informational and Educational Officer Program; to develop an emergency
communication system between the valley floor and the Informational & Educational Officer kiosk
at the top of the valley; and to purchase educational signs and flyers as handouts to educate the
visitors; and
WHEREAS, Contingency Relief funds from Council District 1 will be appropriated to the
Department of Reseazch and Development to integrate the Informational and Educational Program
at the Waipi`o Valley Lookout; now, therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII, that the
following amount is hereby transferred/appropriated as set forth below:

APPROPRIATION: $30,000
OUT AND FROM:
010.101.5101.91 Clerk-Council SVC -Contingency Relief $30,000
CREDITED TO:
010.161.5161.60 Department of Reseazch & Development $30,000
Tourism Program
(Expand the Waipio Valley Informational & Educational Officer
Program; to Develop an Emergency Communication System
between the Valley floor and the Informational & Educational
Officer Kiosk at the top of the Lookout, & to Purchase Educational
Signs & Flyers.)
BE IT FINALLY RESOLVED that the County Clerk shall forward a copy of this
resolution to the Director of Research and Development and Director of Finance and that the
Director of Finance is hereby authorized to make the necessary transfers in accordance with the
terms of this resolution.
