Your Committee on Finance, to which was referred Resolution No. 357-07, reports as follows:
Resolution No. 357-07, transmitted by Director of Finance William Takaba, via Communication
No. 708, dated October 1, 2007, authorizes the payment of funds for more than one fiscal year
for a lazge format copier for the Engineering Division of the Department of Public Works. The
Department's current copier is eight yeazs old and broken. The maintenance company has stated
that it can't be repaired since replacement parts are difficult to locate as this copier is obsolete.
Pursuant to Section 10-11, Hawaii County Charter, any contract, lease or other obligation
requiring payment of funds from the appropriations of a later fiscal yeaz must be approved by
resolution.
Your Committee on Finance is in accord with the purpose and intent of Resolution No. 357-07,
and recommends its adoption.
