Communities which participate in, and gig e direction to the planning processes of their home-
communities are healthy communities. ~Uhila some individuals may disagree-thinking that greater
communiry involvement in planning for the future, fs cumbzrsome-St is clear that protracted litigation
brought about as a result of dissatisfution ich restricted community planning decisions, or simple
apathy (because people have given up), is vutcitmore costly to all of the people and our limited resources.
A conununuy's well-being is in unity and participation in all aspects of cotnmunity life. Participation
enhances communtty sustainability.
In closing, I wish to shank you for tFus oppotnmtty to be heazd, and share w ith you one of the sayings
