Subject: Testimony in opposition to Bill 51
Aloha mai Chairman Hoffmann and members of the Hawaii County Council,
I am opposed to Bill 51 which only requires minimum National Flood Insurance Standards for flood control.
Numerous community members have testified that flooding is increasing in our county. They have testified that
they are increasingly afraid of being harmed.
This county council has an obligation to ensure the health, safety, and welfare of the public. Bill 51 does not fulfill
this obligation. Please vote "nay".
