RESOLUTION NO. 428 0'7
RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE ACCEPTANCE OF A MONETARY DONATION OF $4,647 TO THE
HAWAII FIRE DEPARTMENT
WHEREAS, HFM FBO PruTimber Fund Three, engaged in the business of timberland management in
the North Hilo region of Hawaii Island, has $4,647 to the Hawaii Fire Department to enhance the fire
suppression capabilities of the volunteer fire companies in that area; and
WHEREAS, the Laupahoehoe and Pa'auilo Volunteer Fire Companies will equally share these funds
that has been designated to purchase fire suppression equipment and supplies; and
WHEREAS, Article XIII, Section 13-12, of the Hawaii County Charter provides that the Council, on
behalf of the County, may accept gifts or donations of personal property; and
WHEREAS, the Hawaii Fire Department recommends the acceptance of this donation.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII that in
accordance with Article XIII, Section 13-12, of the Hawaii County Charter, the Council of the County of Hawaii
accepts the $4,647.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a letter of appreciation and a copy of this resolution be sent to HFM
FBO PruTimber Fund Three, c/o Hancock Forest Management, 17700 SE Mill Plain Blvd., Suite 180,
Vancouver, Washington 98683, acknowledging this generous donation.
