Re: Island Wide Transfer Stations Repair and Enhancement Plan
Dear Chairman Hoffmann,
We are requesting that the Solid Waste Division be allowed to present the progress of the 2006 Five-Year
Repair Plan at the December 4, 2007 Environmental Management Committee meeting.
We are prepared to present an overview of the replacement of the most critically deteriorated transfer
stations and a model of the next generation of transfer stations throughout the County. This would
include three dimensional renderings and conceptual plans for Waiohinu, Volcano, Glenwood, and Palma.
It would be a forum to note the questions and concerns of the Committee.
The meeting would provide us the opportunity to share information with the Environmental Management
Committee that will be shared at public, community meetings throughout the week of December P. This
would be the first step in assuring that these sites meet the current and anticipated needs of their
respective communities.
If you have any questions, please contact Term Gloor, Solid Waste Division Civil Engineer, at 961-8058.
Term will be presenting the information on behalf of the department.

Hi Bob,
Mike Dworsky suggested that I try to confirm whether or not we would be on the agenda for the December 4th EM
Committee as requested in the letter of November 5th. We are working to resolve travel itineraries for the
consultants and would like prepare appropriately. Please let me know if it is planned for the agenda or if you
need further info.
I have attached a copy of the press release regarding the public meetings to be held that week in their respective
communities.
