RESOLUTION NO. 431 0'7
A RESOLUTION TRANSFERRING/APPROPRIATING AN APPROPRIATION OUT
AND FROM THE DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT(S) AND CREDITING SAME TO
A DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT(S)
WHEREAS, the Happy Homes Subdivision in Kurtistown was established in the late
1800's during the sugar plantation era; and
WHEREAS, the Happy Homes community is currently landlocked with no public
access road into their subdivision; and
WHEREAS, the main entrance into the community is Momona Road, which is a private
road owned by several homeowners; and
WHEREAS, some homeowners have already expressed their intent to grant the County
permission to acquire their portion of the road; however, a title seazch is still needed to establish
all legal owners along Momona Road; and
WHEREAS, on July 25, 2007, Resolution 268-07 was adopted, which transferred $5,000
to the Department of Public Works for a title seazch along Momona Road; and
WHEREAS, the title search will now be contracted out and an additional $2,400 is
needed, which brings the total to $7,400 for the coordination fee, title search, and appraisal; and
WHEREAS, Contingency Relief funds from Council District 3 will be appropriated to
the Depaztment of Public Works for the coordination fee and the completion of a title search
and appraisal along Momona Road; now, therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII that
the following amount is hereby transferred/appropriated as set forth below:

BE IT FINALLY RESOLVED that the County Clerk shall forwazd a copy of this
resolution to the Director of Public Works and the Director of Finance, and that the Director of
Finance is hereby authorized to make the necessary transfers in accordance with the terms of
this resolution.
