Testimony on Flood Plain Managemcnt
On behalf of both the Hawaii Island Chamber of Commerce, of which I azn president-elect and
government affairs chair, and of the Japanese Chamber of Commerce & Industry of Hawaii, I
ask you to take action on only those parts of the flood management bill that bring us into
compliance with the NFIP and take more time to study any other changes.
We hear from credible people, many of whom have testified before you, that there aze real
questions and problems with some of the other proposals.
Again, we urge you act only on those parts that bring us into compliance.
