SUBJECT: Resolution Transferring Funds (Council District 1)
Contingency Relief funds from Council District 1 will be appropriated to the Department of
Environmental Management, to be used as a grant for the Ka Hale O Na Keiki Preschool project,
who has been mandated by the Environmental Protection Agency to close their large capacity
cesspool, and in doing so, the playground and tricycle pathway will be torn up.
Enclosed is a resolution authorizing the transfer of funds ($20,000) from the Clerk-Council SVC-
Contingency Relief account to the following account and project:

RE: Resolution No: 436-07 Resolution Transferring/Appropriatingan Appropriation
Out and From the Designated Fund Account(s) and Creditinging Same to a Designated
Fund Account(s) for Ka Hale O Na Keiki Preschool Project.
Pursuant to Section 2(g) of Rule 4 of the Rules of Procedure of the Council of the County of
Hawaii, this written request is submitted with my approval that the above-referenced matter be
waived from the Committee on Finance to the full Council for immediate action. In reviewing
this matter, timely approval is crucial. It is therefore advantageous that approval is granted and
the matter placed onto the next Council agenda for review. However, in the event this request is
denied, for whatever reason, I understand the matter shall be referred to the Committee on
Finance for placement on its future agenda.
