The proposition for two planning commissions on the Big Island would help alleviate the huge workload
being handled by Hawaii County's single commission, improve efficiency and help relieve some of the
frustration and pressure upon local people by allowing them to attend the commission meetings
addressing concerns in their particular district. Far from dividing the county, the two commissions
would be able to work more effectively on joint concerns as well as independently solving district
centric issues.
Please pass this reading of the draft and allow a public vote on this important change.
